WHY NOW?
Now is always an important time because it is the present moment that we have been given to live in. As Christians, we are called to make the most of every moment and to live our lives for the glory of God. Here are some Bible verses and explanations that highlight why now is important.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven”
This passage reminds us that there is a time for everything in life, and that each season is important in its own way. It encourages us to embrace the present moment and to make the most of the time we have been given. Whether we are experiencing joy or sorrow, success or failure, we can trust that God has a purpose for every season of our lives.
James 4:13-15 – “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.'”
This passage reminds us that we cannot control the future, and that we must be mindful of the present moment. It encourages us to trust in God’s plan for our lives and to seek His will for each day. We should not take our time on earth for granted, but instead use it wisely to serve God and others.
2 Corinthians 6:2 – “For he says, ‘In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
This passage reminds us that salvation is available to us now, in the present moment. We do not know what the future holds, but we can be sure of our salvation if we put our faith in Jesus Christ. It encourages us to make the most of every opportunity to share the gospel with others and to live as witnesses of Christ’s love.
Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
This verse reminds us that each day is a gift from God, and that we should rejoice and be glad in it. It encourages us to focus on the present moment and to find joy in the blessings that God has given us. We should not be weighed down by the worries of tomorrow or the regrets of yesterday, but instead live fully in the present moment.
In conclusion, now is important because it is the only moment that we have. We cannot change the past or control the future, but we can trust in God’s plan for our lives and make the most of each day that we have been given. Let us seek to live for God in the present moment and find joy in His blessings.
