From Nothing to Something: The SDM Way of Leadership
From Nothing to Something: The SDM Way of Leadership
Doing Something to Something? No.
Doing Nothing to Something? Yes!
When you join SDM, you are not just a participant — you are entrusted with a leadership role in your own individual ministry. That means you have both the authority and the responsibility to build something that reflects God’s unique call upon your life.
Why a Ministry Initiative Is Required
Every SDM leader must present a new ministry initiative. This is not just a formality — it’s a vital part of our annual assessment process. Your initiative allows us to see your vision in action, measure spiritual fruit, and ensure that every SDM leader is actively advancing God’s Kingdom.
Why It Must Be New
We do not accept initiatives that are:
-
Simply a continuation of existing ministry work (something to something)
-
A takeover or repackaging of someone else’s vision (something to something)
-
The closing down of an existing work (something to nothing)
Instead, your leadership should be about birthing something fresh — from a God-given idea, through prayer, planning, and action, into a living ministry that blesses others.
Nothing to Something means:
-
You start with a God-inspired vision and a blank page.
-
You take ownership, under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, to develop it from scratch.
-
You bring it to life with tangible results that can be seen, measured, and celebrated.
This principle keeps SDM vibrant, creative, and aligned with the expansive nature of God’s Kingdom — always multiplying, never stagnating.
So when you join SDM, remember:
You’re not here to just manage what already exists.
You’re here to create, pioneer, and lead — taking something from nothing to something.
Hope you catch it!
